There is something ancient in the meeting of serpent and moon—both carry the mystery of cycles, transformation, and returning again and again to what is essential.
The serpent is a powerful image of transformation. As it sheds its skin, it reminds us that we are not meant to remain who we once were. In shamanic traditions and contemporary shamanic practice, the serpent can be understood as a guide into the deep places where healing, renewal, and transformation begin.
Surrounding the serpent are the cycles of the moon—darkness, crescent, fullness, and return. The moon reminds us that nothing remains fixed. There are times to grow, times to shine, times to retreat into darkness, and times to begin again.
Together, serpent and moon create an invitation to shed what has been, move with the cycles of life, and trust what is transforming beneath the surface.
Perhaps this drum will accompany you through your own cycles of change—a companion for journeying, ceremony, meditation, ritual, or simply listening more deeply to the wisdom within.
