A Website with a Big Job
Our website has a ridiculously big job.
It's home to our coffee shop, farmhouse store, professional counseling practice, workshops, retreats, weddings, shamanic gatherings...and soon, a couple of cabins and yurts. Frankly, we're asking a lot of one website.
It's where you'll find our fair-trade coffee, thoughtfully sourced from small farmers around the world, vegan baked goods, handmade gifts from artisans near and far, and many of the things I make myself—from skincare and aura sprays to artwork, drums, and rattles.
It's also where you'll learn about my work as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Over the past 25 years, my practice has grown from traditional cognitive therapies to mind-body approaches and eventually into shamanic practices. Turns out, learning never really ends.
The River Runs Through is more than a coffee shop.
It's a place to gather. To slow down. To attend a workshop, celebrate a wedding, wander through the woods, say hello to the river, politely introduce yourself to the beavers (from a respectful distance), and acknowledge the red squirrels who are absolutely convinced they own the place.
To be fair...they probably did first.
Soon there will be cabins and yurts tucked among the trees. Until then, there are Adirondack chairs, garden rows, coffee, and plenty of room to breathe.
Rob and I have built this place one project at a time, one cup of coffee at a time, and occasionally one "learning opportunity" at a time. (We've had a few of those.)
Do we think it's magical?
Absolutely.
Maybe a little less magical when it's 20 below and the coffee gets cold before you do, but even then, Mother Nature has a way of reminding us that every season has something to teach.
So if you find yourself at the very top of Mid-Coast Maine, take a drive up Route 141.
You really can't miss us.
And if you somehow manage to...don't worry. The next road offers the world's easiest turnaround.
Come by.
Stay awhile.
See what finds you.
We'll put the coffee on. Fingers crossed it only takes six buttons and ten minutes to produce one really good cup of coffee. (Every day we get a little faster.)
